Actually this "Love Your Enemy" comes from Ancient Roman Fighting tactics, "Love Your Enemy, or you will fear Them", and you will lose. I'm an Italian born Canadian, when young I would go to Italy many times. When I questioned the elder men at bars or socially I'd ask them questions about our history. This is where I found historical points that only they might have heard from elders before them, the "Love Your Enemy, or you will fear Them" comes from their stories.
